Hello flower lover!
So I’ve been playing The Cozy Florist since February, and I’m still recovering from my Great Diamond Disaster. I spent 800 diamonds to speed up my greenhouse renovation, which honestly would have been done by Tuesday. I’m learning my real bank account and my in-game bank account don’t like me making impulse buys.
If you’re reading this because you’re looking at your sad little balance of 12 Gold and 0 Diamonds and wondering how everyone else has the Limited Edition Moonlight Rose arrangement, you’re not alone! This is your guide to getting ahead. These aren’t generic tips you’ll find on the wiki. These are things I’ve learned at 2AM wrapped in a blanket with my cat judging me.
First Things First: Understand Your Currencies (I didn’t and suffered!)
Gold is your main currency in this game. You’ll need to buy seeds, basic furniture and pay your landlord who for some reason is very persistent with reminding you to pay rent with a carrier pigeon. Diamonds are the premium currency. They let you buy premium fertilisers, instant delivery flower trucks and shopkeeper outfits (I love the overalls with the little bee pin!).
The main rule I follow is if it costs diamonds and will be completed by tomorrow, don’t buy it. Wait! Diamonds should only be used if you’re upgrading something permanently or if you really need it during a hectic event.
Morning Routine (With Coffee!)
The Cozy Florist Free Diamonds and Gold As I don’t have a job starting at 8am (grad school, sorry!) I treat my routine like sacred.
7am: I wake up to my alarm, open the game and start playing. As the game resets every day at midnight, my flowers will have grown overnight! Immediately I collect everything I can. If I leave my flowers too long they’ll wilt and I’ll be sad. Don’t let them be sad.
7.05am: Watch the 2 ads. I know, I know. But I do this whilst my coffee is brewing. It’s only 10 seconds of watching someone solve puzzle games, and suddenly I have 10 diamonds! This adds up to 300 diamonds a month for free!
7.10am: Check the message board next to your door. Occasionally there will be secret quests from Mrs Higgins asking for something that smells nostalgic. Do these as they pay surprisingly well!
Gold Tips: Don’t Upgrade Everything!
I fell into this trap. I’d see new items I could upgrade (like a new watering can or floral foam dispenser) and would upgrade them. Suddenly I had 4 gold and couldn’t afford sunflower seeds!
Instead focus on upgrading seed slots. The more slots you have, the more flowers you can grow at the same time. This means you’ll make more gold per hour.
The Cozy Florist mod Free Diamonds and Gold Don’t waste your gold on aesthetic items. Whilst that rustic ladder shelf looks nice, it won’t help you earn more money. Save your gold for useful items.
I always keep 100-200 gold in my bank. This is because there are random events that happen, such as the traveling merchant coming to visit. These events only give you a few minutes to decide if you want to buy the items. Don’t be me and miss out on getting the discount because you spent your last coin on a fancy wheelbarrow. (I did this twice!)
Diamond Tips: I Used To Be A Spender, Now I’m A Hoarder!
I used to waste my diamonds but now I save them! I currently have 2300 diamonds and feel like a king!
My favourite way to earn diamonds is with the Perfection Streak. If you complete 5 customers without any mistakes (correct flower, wrapping and vase) you get 20 diamonds! It seems tough but after level 20 you’ll be super quick. I play with my thumb hovering over ‘complete’ like it’s a rhythm game.
I also rearrange my shop every few days. I’m not sure if this is a bug or if I’m just going crazy but every time I move my till or change my window display I seem to get more Inspiration Diamonds from neighbours. Maybe the game rewards you for your feng shui! Either way it’s free to move your furniture around so I do this whilst watching Netflix.
Event Tips: The Real Money Maker (Pun Intended!)
Events are where you’ll earn real money. I’ve earned 600 diamonds in the spring bloom festival and gotten dizzy from my gold balance during valentines day.
Pre plan your events. Every event will show a teaser banner 24hrs before something big happens. During this period I go into savings overdrive. I don’t spend any gold, unless it’s seeds I know I’ll need for the event bouquets.
During the event itself do the easy daily tasks first. This will give you free tokens. Don’t be like me and try to be a hero and spend 45 mins trying to make an Eternal Winter Rose during the summer event because it looked cool. I failed, cried and ate a pickle.
My Favourite Quirk: Talking To Your Plants
I’m a bit superstitious but I tap my shop every morning and say good morning to my plants. It’s not a quirk in the game but it’s just funny. However, since I’ve started doing this my Rare Bloom rate seems to have improved! I’m sure it’s a placebo but it makes me giggle!
Overall if you take anything from this slightly mad blog post it’s:
Collect then decorate.
Never spend diamonds on timers.
Have an emergency fund of gold.
Watch all the ads. Be a child.
Water your flowers and talk to them like they’re alive. In this game they kind of are!
If you see me on the global leaderboard (I’m Luna_Petalz if you want to add me!) I’ll definitely give you a mystery gift. It’ll probably be a cactus. I have a lot of cacti. I don’t know why.
But I must go. My Hydrangeas are ready and I have a destiny to fulfill as a middle aged shopkeeper with 47 watering cans!
Have a blooming day! đŸŒ¸
