As a semi-precious stone, prehnite is also known by other names, that are, prehnitoid, edelite, chiltonite, and Karoo stone. This stone has some trade names as well, such as New jade and grape jade. However, to be clear, prehnite is not a jade. Raw prehnite is found in nodular shapes, similar to that of a grape, and this is why it is known as grape jade in all of China.
