Ruby zoisite was first discovered by an English prospector Tom Blevins in Tanzania near Mount Kilimanjaro in 1954. But everyone has a question in their mind about how ruby zoisite gets its name. Generally, Ruby Zoisite or Anyolite is a combination of three crystals: green zoisite, black hornblende and ruby. So, in the Maasai people’s language anyolite means green, these people also indicate it ruby in zoisite because they’re proud that these crystals are available there.
